HOLY GUACAMOLE: How to Save Your Guac from Browning

WHERE ARE MY FELLOW GUAC LOVERS?!?!

Chipotle is HANDS down our favorite (and really only) "fast food" we eat.  I can't get enough of their chicken salad and what do they put in their guacamole because it is HEAVENLY!  Yes, I know it's extra and it's worth every penny. I have to refrain from licking my bowl.

Do you make guacamole at home?  It's SO easy and we love to eat it with our FAV tortilla chips....

THESE ARE AMAZING!  Add these bad boys to your Trader Joe's list.

Making homemade guacamole is SUPER simple.  All you need is...

1 Avocado
1/2 Lemon (squeeze juice)
1/3 Red Onion
Sea Salt
Pepper
Crushed Red Pepper (optional)

If you're like me you will have extra guacamole (or at least TRY not to eat it all...remember that thing called portion control?!?! If you have trouble with portion control you need to check out the 21 DAY FIX PROGRAM!).  Problem is that leftover guac turns brown and gross when you put in the refrigerator.  I hate to waste huac.  It's basically a sin. So, I was determined to find a way to keep it fresh to enjoy the next day.  I discovered a trick and HAVE to share with you!  It sounds strange and I thought it wouldn't work but it has worked EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

You simply smooth out the guacamole and add a layer of water to the top.  Put the lid on and place it in the refrigerator.  It should look like this...

When you're ready to enjoy the next day, dump out the water and it looks JUST LIKE THIS...

Give it a try!

Now you'll never have to waste any guacamole again!  Do you have a trick to keep you guac fresh?!  Share below!

XO
Heather
