PERFECTIONISTS (especially moms), LISTEN UP!!!
This has been one of my big takeaways for 2015 and after sharing it with a fellow coach friend today who is VERY similar to me, it was on my heart to share it with you all.

-Why are we our own worst critics?
-Why do we expect perfection from ourselves in everything we do?
-Why do we expect to be perfect RIGHT AWAY when things are new?
-Why do we beat ourselves up for not being "the best" at something?
-Why do we compare ourselves to others and then question everything because our version looks a little different?
-Why do we exhaust ourselves until we have nothing left to give because it's just not "right" yet?

I'm a recovering perfectionist. It will always be part of me but I am learning how to CONTROL IT and I want to help you control it, too.
I have a couple questions for you? Would you talk to your best friend the way you talk to yourself and hold them to the same standard of perfection? How about your children?
OF COURSE NOT!
We'd be so upset if someone expected perfection or talked to our best friend or children the way we talk to ourselves.
IT IS NO DIFFERENT.
God commands us to love thy neighbors as thyself. That goes BOTH ways!
WE HOLD OUR LOVED ONES TO A STANDARD OF GRACE AND WE SHOULD HOLD OURSELVES TO THAT SAME STANDARD.
The next time you're being hard on yourself, take a step back. Ask yourself if you'd expect the same perfection from your best friend or child....and give yourself some GRACE.
